Last updated 4 October 2026. Plain terms, and every number in them is the number the software actually uses.
These terms cover Better AI Learning at learn.betterailearning.education and the Language Learner app at languagelearner.betterailearning.education. Using either means accepting them. How we handle personal data is a separate document — see Privacy.
The first ten lessons of every course are free and open — no account, no payment, no time limit. That is not a trial that expires; it is how the courses are meant to be tried. Each one includes its dialogue, audio, vocabulary, grammar, exercises and culture note in full.
The level test is free as well. It is explicitly approximate: twenty questions place you to within one band about 97% of the time, which is useful for choosing where to start and is not a qualification.
A pass does two things: it opens every lesson of every course for its term, and it comes with credits for generating your own practice dialogues and exercises.
A generation costs between one and five credits depending on which model does the work, and we choose the model, not you — a dialogue gets the best one because it is the thing you read, and practice questions get a cheaper one because they are disposable. Lesson access is never charged per use: a pass opens the courses for its whole term whether you have credits left or not.
A pass does not renew itself. There is no subscription and no automatic charge — when the term ends it simply ends, and buying another is something you do deliberately. Buying a second pass while one is still running adds its term and its credits rather than replacing them.
Credits end with the pass that carried them. They are not a stored balance you own independently: when a pass expires, any of its unspent credits expire with it. There are no free credits on an account without a pass.
What you generate is yours to use as you like. We record only that a generation happened — the topic you asked for, which model ran, how many credits it cost — so that your balance is honest and a failure can be investigated. The generated text itself is not stored on our servers. It lives in your browser, which means clearing your site data loses it, and we cannot send you a copy of something we never kept.
It is also machine-written, and that has consequences you should know about: it can be wrong. A generated sentence may be unnatural, or grammatical but not idiomatic, or simply mistaken. The hand-written lessons are the ones to trust; generation is practice, not instruction.
Write to information@betterailearning.education if a pass is not what you expected. If we refund it, the system does exactly one thing: the pass ends immediately and its unspent credits are void from that moment. Credits you had already spent are not clawed back, and other passes you hold are untouched.
Payment is taken by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, so your receipt and your statutory rights as a buyer are with them, and their terms apply to the transaction itself alongside these.
The courses, the audio and the glossaries are ours. A pass gives you personal use of them for its term — it does not transfer any of it to you.
We do not promise the sites are always available. There is no uptime commitment, and both run on infrastructure that occasionally fails. We will not deliberately remove lessons you have paid to reach, but courses change: lessons get corrected, rewritten and added, and audio is regenerated when a voice or a line changes.
Nothing here is a promise that you will reach a particular level. The courses are a resource; the result depends on you.
You can stop at any time, and ask us at information@betterailearning.education to delete your account — see Privacy for what that removes.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks the section above, and if we do we will refund the unused part of a current pass unless the breach was reselling access or bulk-copying the content.
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising out of these terms is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything in this document.
Better AI Learning is established in the United States, in the State of Washington. These terms, and any dispute arising out of them, are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Washington have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, that paragraph does not take anything away from you. It does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and it does not remove any right you have to bring proceedings in your own local courts where that right cannot be waived. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union in particular, your local consumer protections apply whatever this document says.
If these terms change, this page changes and the date at the top moves. A change that materially reduces what a current pass gives you will not be applied to that pass before its term ends.
